Dismissal of Hit and Run Charge

In November of 2010, out of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Long Beach Division, Attorney Lorgio Coimbra secured the dismissal of a Hit and Run charge pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 20002.   A hit and run charge can subject the accused to up to six (6) months in county jail and adverse consequences to one's driving record (two points on license).  Pursuant to California Penal Code sections 1377 and 1378, the court acknowledged a civil compromise in the case and dismissed the hit and run charge. The defendant was spared possible county jail time as well as other burdensome consequences of a hit and run conviction.
