Another Hit and Run Dismissal!

Our South Bay Criminal Defense Law Firm represented a young woman charged with a hit and run.  A misdemeanor conviction for this offense would have caused a significantly negative impact on her insurance given that a hit and run is a two-point violation.  It also would have wreaked destruction on her future academic and career ambitions.  Her ability to attain a job would have been compromised, given that employers conduct criminal background checks and would have found a misdemeanor on her record.  Our South Bay Criminal Defense Law Firm, Torrance Criminal Defense Lawyers made eight court apeparances on behalf of our client. 

The client never had to appear in court!

Ultimately, our Los Angeles criminal defense lawyers were able to negotiate a civil compromise with the victim of the hit and run and make payment to the victim pursuant to civil compromise.  Our South Bay Attorneys then undertook lenghty negotiations with the District Attorney, who initially would not agree to a civil compromise and to the dismissal of the case.  FInally, we were able to negotiate a complete dismissal of the charge based on our client doing community service.  In addition, much of the money that was paid for purposes of the civil compromise was paid through in-place insurance and not out-of-pocket by the client. 

Early on in this case, the complaingin witness and the district attorney were uncooperative with a civil compromise resolution.  It was only after month after month of court appearances and contact with the complaining witness that our Torrance Criminal Defense Lawyers were able to reach this settlement.  This resolution created no point count on our client's DMV record and resulted in a complete dismissal of criminal charges, meaning that a background criminal investigation by anyone will reveal no conviction.
